Photographer preparing a carefully lit studio photography session in Mauritius

How Photography Sessions Work

Discuss · Prepare · Photograph · Select

A clear, personal process

Know What to Expect Before You Book

Every photography session begins with its purpose. You may need a professional headshot, want to mark a personal moment, explore a creative idea or arrange a private boudoir experience. The process is adapted to that intention rather than forcing every client through an identical formula.

You do not need experience in front of a camera. Planning, lighting and direction are handled for you, while decisions about clothing, mood, privacy and the final photographs are discussed clearly along the way.

Your Photography Session, Step by Step

The details vary by service, but the same considered sequence keeps the experience organised and understandable.

  1. 01

    Share Your Idea

Describe the photographs you want, their intended use, who will take part and any date, privacy or practical requirements.

  2. 02

    Confirm the Session

Your request is reviewed personally. Once availability is agreed, an invoice is issued. The booking becomes firm after the 50% deposit is received and confirmation is sent by email.

  3. 03

    Plan and Prepare

Clothing, backgrounds, references, timing and optional printing or props are clarified so that the studio can be prepared before you arrive.

  4. 04

    Create the Photographs

You receive calm direction for posture, expression and movement. The lighting and setup can evolve during the session without rushing the process.

  5. 05

    Select and Receive

The photographs are reviewed according to the agreed package, the final selection is edited and the finished images are delivered privately.

Before you arrive

Preparation Without Overcomplication

A little planning creates more freedom during the photoshoot. You will know what to bring while leaving room for natural expression and new ideas.

Clothing

Bring Considered Options

Select clothing that supports the purpose of the session. Several options may be useful when the package allows changes of look or mood.

References

Explain the Feeling You Want

Reference photographs can help communicate atmosphere, styling or lighting. They guide the conversation without becoming images that must be copied exactly.

Practical details

Arrive Ready and Unhurried

Your confirmation explains arrival time and anything specific to bring. Allow enough time so the session can begin calmly rather than under pressure.

During the photoshoot

Direction That Still Feels Like You

You will be guided through posture, position, expression and small movements. Direction is adjusted to the type of portrait and to how you respond in front of the camera; you are not expected to arrive knowing how to pose.

The session can move between seated, standing, close and wider compositions where appropriate. Clothing, background and lighting changes are organised around the available time and the number of finished photographs in your package.

For intimate photography, you remain in control of what is created. You can pause, add clothing, decline an idea or stop the session at any time.

Safety, Privacy & Confidentiality

After the camera

Selection, Finishing and Delivery

The work continues after the photoshoot through careful review, consistent editing and private delivery of the agreed final photographs.

Choosing the Final Photographs

The selection method depends on your package. Where client selection is included, you choose from the suitable proofs before the final images are completed.

Editing and Retouching

Selected photographs are finished consistently with the studio’s style. Reasonable preferences can be discussed, while the result remains recognisable and natural to the person photographed.

Private Digital Delivery

Finished digital photographs are supplied through the delivery method agreed for your session, with access information shared directly with you.

Prints, Canvas and Albums

Professional printing, canvas and printed-album options can be selected when booking or discussed before the final order is prepared.

Still deciding?
