1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

Boudoir Studio, operated by Kurt François in Albion, Mauritius, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy and acts as the data controller for that information.

You can contact the Studio through the secure contact form or by WhatsApp using the number shown on the contact page.

2. Information We May Collect

The information collected depends on how you interact with the Studio and may include:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, telephone number and correspondence.
  • Booking information: the requested service, preferred date and time, package, optional extras, coupon information and session notes.
  • Session information: clothing or styling preferences, accessibility or practical requirements, privacy choices and agreed boundaries.
  • Photographic material: photographs, video, audio where applicable, proofs, edited files and the associated production information.
  • Transaction records: payments, invoices, refunds and the information needed to maintain financial records. Full payment-card details are not requested through this website.
  • Technical information: limited server logs such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security events.

Intimate photographs or information voluntarily shared while planning a session may reveal sensitive aspects of a person. Such information is treated with particular care and is used only where necessary for the agreed service or with explicit consent.

3. How and Why We Use Personal Information

Information may be used to:

  • answer enquiries and discuss a possible session;
  • prepare, schedule and provide the requested photography or video service;
  • confirm bookings, administer payments and maintain business records;
  • respect privacy, consent, safety and image-use instructions;
  • select, edit, deliver, archive or securely delete files in accordance with the session agreement;
  • protect the website, Studio, clients and legal rights; and
  • comply with applicable legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with a legal obligation or a legitimate interest that does not override your rights.

The Studio does not sell personal information and does not use enquiry details for unrelated direct marketing without permission.

4. Photographs, Video and Publication Consent

Client photographs and videos are created and processed to provide the commissioned service. They are not published on the website, social media, advertising, competitions, magazines or a public portfolio without separate, explicit permission.

Permission to publish is optional and is not a condition of purchasing a standard private session. Any agreed use should be recorded in writing and should identify the material and permitted purpose. You may withdraw consent for future consent-based use by contacting the Studio, although withdrawal does not make earlier lawful use unlawful and may not require recall of material already printed or published by an independent third party.

Additional confidentiality choices and the handling of identifiable features can be agreed before an intimate session.

5. Sharing, Processors and Overseas Services

Personal information is shared only where reasonably necessary. Recipients may include website and email hosting providers, secure cloud-storage or gallery providers, payment or accounting services, printing laboratories, professional advisers and public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Some technology providers may process information outside Mauritius. Where this occurs, reasonable steps are taken to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the requirements of applicable data-protection law.

Service providers are expected to process information only for the contracted purpose and to protect it appropriately.

6. Retention and Security

Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the service, resolve a query, maintain required financial or legal records, or establish and defend legal rights.

The retention period for original and edited image files may depend on the package and written session agreement. Clients should keep their own secure copy after delivery; indefinite storage is not guaranteed. Backup copies may remain for a limited backup cycle after active files are deleted.

Reasonable organisational and technical safeguards are used, including restricted access, careful file handling and appropriately protected devices or services. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your Data-Protection Rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you and ask for correction, completion, restriction, objection or erasure. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also ask about the source, purpose, recipients and retention of your information.

A request may require reasonable proof of identity so that information is not disclosed to the wrong person. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal rights.

Mauritius’s Data Protection Act 2017 provides the principal framework for these rights. Further information is available from the Mauritius Data Protection Office (opens in a new tab).

8. Cookies, Embedded Media and External Links

This website may use limited technical storage required for essential functionality. It does not use such storage to identify visitors for unrelated marketing.

The Boudoir Video page uses a click-to-load YouTube player. No YouTube iframe is loaded until you choose to activate it. Once activated, YouTube may receive technical information and apply its own privacy and cookie practices. Links to Google Maps, YouTube, social media or other third-party websites are governed by those providers’ policies.

If analytics or additional non-essential cookies are introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before they are enabled.

9. Children

The contact and booking services are intended for adults capable of making an enquiry or entering an agreement. Intimate, boudoir, semi-nude and nude services are available only to persons aged 18 or over. A minor may be photographed in an appropriate non-intimate service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, Studio practices, service providers or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. Material changes affecting an active client relationship may also be communicated directly where appropriate.

11. Contact and Complaints

To ask a privacy question or exercise a data-protection right, use the contact form and clearly state that your message concerns privacy. You may also contact the Studio through WhatsApp.

Related document: This website policy should be read with any booking confirmation, image-use consent, confidentiality agreement and the Terms & Conditions that apply to your session.
